Climate change: The shocking results, part 2

Hello, future scientists, it’s your uncle globe, back with the 2nd part of discussing the climate issue. Today I am going to tell you about how climate change is effecting humans and other animals. Let’s start.

In 1st article about climate change I told you how we humans are causing 90% of global warming. Now I am gonna tell you briefly how global warming is causing the climate change. You see, when the atmosphere around myself, the earth, go high, it creates low air presser zone because warm air is lighter and the warm air go up so the cold air from the high air presser zone rushes to the low presser zone. It is a normal but one of the most important phenomenon to maintain the proper environmental balance. But this phenomenon in larger scale can affect regular rain and air flow and guess what! The global warming is doing exact this larger scale thing, so the regular rain is getting disturbed, creating irregular air flow which causes drastic change in temperature. This whole thing is also happening under water. Yes, Water is more dense than the air but their characteristics are very similar to each other. There is also some water flow, just like the air, around the seas world-wide. As you have learned earlier that liquid absorbs more heat than air so most of the heat generated in global warming is absorbed by the sea. And just like the air, hotter water travels  to the colder regions such as north and south poles creating a huge temperature difference which causes the melting disaster of glaciers.

Glaciers are one of the biggest source of fresh water and fast melting of these glaciers are causing the drinking water crisis world-wide. When the sea water of some areas gets hotter, it becomes unbearable for most of the sea creatures, so they migrate towards the pole regions. This kind of situations can hamper both humans and the ecosystem. As example- in north east Atlantic, the fishes, zooplanktons, seabirds and other animal species are migrating towards the pole to escape from the heat, and in the Mediterranean some species have faced mass extinction while new warm water species have taken their places and as the corals can’t move, they are just dying on huge scale which is the reason of drastic negative change on ecosystem. Now you may ask, is this thing even bothering the humans..? yes it is, you see, most of the fisher men around the world are depending of sea fishes, so now if the starts migrating the fishermen won’t be able to catch them so a dramatic economic hazard will pop up and sadly it has already started in some poor island countries. Rising of sea levels are causing frequent floods in many sea side countries. Scientists are assuming that if this rising rate continues then at the end of this century some major cities like Miami in USA, Kolkata in India, Osaka in Japan etc. Even entire island nations in pacific region could completely disappear. The irregular flow of air or disturbance in regular wind flow is causing unexpected droughts and heavy rain in unexpected areas, hampering the farming and business and natural resources.

This is the end of today’s talk about climate change. There will be another part based on this topic where I will tell you the solutions of this huge global problem, till then, goodbye.
