BASICS OF OUR SPACE AND BLACK HOLE

Hello future scientists, I am your Uncle Globe. At 1st I am going to tell you about our Planetary System and some other things. Let's learn.

Friends, you all know that our Planetary System has 9 planets and myself, The Earth, is on number 3 of them, means I am the 3rd nearest planet from the sun. Me and other planets, we all move around the sun, but do you know who do the sun circulates around? Yes!! you guessed it right, our very own The Milky Way Galaxy. Now you may have a question in your mind that why do the planets, suns means stars circulates around the Milky Way Galaxy?, It's because of the Mass or I should say, because of the Gravitational Force, in short Gravity.

Big things always attracts the small things, because big ones have more powerful gravitational force than the small ones. So what does the Milky Way Galaxy has that it pulls the big stars towards the centre?. I know that some of you have already answered it, Yes, the Black Hole. Our Milky Way Galaxy has a supermassive Black Hole in it's centre, called Sagittarius A* [pronounced- Sagittarius A star]. It is our most nearest Supermassive Black Hole and it is 25000 light years away from us. You may ask, what is "Light Years"?. It is a unit of distance like kilometres. Light Years means the distance travelled by the light in a time span of a year. So if we travel at the speed of light, it will take us 25000 years to reach to the Sagittarius A*.

Do you know who 1st told us about the Black Hole? Yes!! It's Stephen Hawking. He was the one who gave us the 1st equation of a Black Hole. But every other scientists were not sure if the Black Hole is real or not, because we have only a mathematical representation of it, not an actual evidence, Until 10th April 2019. Because on that day our Event Horizon Telescope, made by NASA, took the very 1st picture of a Supermassive Black Hole, at the centre of the Galaxy M87, a neighbouring galaxy of Milky Way, and then the mankind got their 1st glance of a real Black Hole.

So, future scientists, this is the end of our learning talk. In next post we will know about myself, your beloved Earth.
